COERR and the Camp-based Staff in Mobile Child Friendly Spaces (CFS)

   COERR implemented the Mobile Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) for children and youth in the temporary shelters to learn and play in the safe areas provided for them to develop their physical and intellectual growth.

   It was also an opportunity for children to learn life skills and social skills through playing and working together, under close monitoring of COERR’s camp-based staff. Moreover, during children’s participation in the activities at the Mobile Child Friendly Spaces, the camp-based staff could observe and identify the children who need special care or protection particularly the vulnerable children.

   Type of activities offered included drawing, painting, modeling clay playing, gypsum toys painting, singing, dancing, story-telling, group conversation, jigsaw puzzles games and block toys building, folk plays performance, outdoor exercises, etc.

   The project achievement were children participated in the program had developed problem solving skill, creativity and imagination skills. Children were feeling happy and relax through playing and performing various activities.

   During past November, COERR provided Mobile CFS with several activities mentioned above in 9 temporary shelters, as follows:

     COERR Mae Hong Son organized Mobile Child Friendly Spaces in Ban Mai Nai Soi temporary shelter for 2,009 children and        youth; and in Ban Mae Surin for 243 children.

     COERR Mae Sarieng had 1,924 children and youth participated in Ban Mae Lama Luang temporary shelter and 1,618 in Ban        Mae La Oon temporary shelter.

     COERR Mae Sot had this program for 1,172 children and youth in Ban Mae La temporary shelter, 605 in Ban Umpiem                    temporary shelter and 537 in Ban Nupo temporary shelter.

     COERR Kanchanaburi organized the program in Ban Don Yang temporary shelter for 369 children and youth and in Ban                Tham Hin temporary shelter for 384 participants.

   The total number of children and youth participating in various activities in COERR Mobile Child Friendly Spaces throughout November 2022 was 8,861.

   The Mobile Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) were set up in various places such as church compound, outside of food distribution store, school library and meeting hall including camp offices of COERR. These venues were selected to suit the creative learning and playing activities of children and youth.
